One Word... by Bros G.

Dr. Femi, while I personally appreciate your efforts to carry everyone along on this project, I want to state that it is rather unfortunate that some of simply take life too seriously.

I cannot simply understand why someone would not want to interact with people they shared an important phase of their life with in high school. For me personally, that was a very exciting part of my life because it was there I actually fell in love for the first time in my life and I'm not ashamed to share that information.

My dear people, one thing I want us to note is that we cannot and will not live in this world forever........we are here today and gone tomorrow. Let's try to live as though today maybe our last and contribute to touch lives personally in our own little ways.

For those who are not aware some of our colleagues are no more. I'm aware of Jide Osoba because I saw his obituary as far back as 2001 when I was at Ibadan. What happened to him? He actually slumped while browsing the internet.......I know because I later found out he was working for a company that was providing Internet service to the company I worked for then.

Jide Olatoye was far back 1992 when I gained admission into the university. I was told he came back home shortly after gaining admission into U.I. and complained about having headache and that led to his untimely demise. I have also heard about Taiwo Onanuga and until very recently Bamidele Subulokun.

I sincerely thank Lola (God bless her) for her efforts because I actually received mails she sent to help a child of one of our former students. But she took it one step further and we have started interacting once again with one another.

I want to make a sincere appeal to all of you my fellow colleagues. I understand Damola Bolodeoku is very ill and I ask that we remember him in our prayers. I equally appeal that we not allow this good effort by Lola to fizzle out because of anger, unresolved issues of the past, fear or whatever reason. You never can tell the good that will come out of this reunion effort.

My prayer is that God in His infinite mercy will meet us all at the point of our needs in Jesus' name. Amen. God bless you all.

You're absolutely correct Gabriel, we need to stop watching from the sidelines and step into the limelight (I know that you were talking to me). I kept saying to myself that I'll respond when I got home but my bosses at home (2 kids - 7yrs and 14 months, and my big baby - hubby) won't let me put my bag down before they start demanding (mummy this, mummy that, what are we going to eat? etc).

Every time someone mentions 17 years since we left school, I get reminded that I'm also 17 years older (63 years old now, Oops did I spill the beans?). I apologize for not keeping in touch as I left Nigeria so suddenly (I think I just got fed up). It's great to read all your comments and it definitely took me back down memory lane. I almost got in trouble at work for laughing out aloud at your funny comments and kept dying to respond but never got the chance until now. It's so great that Lola thought of this. Lola you're a genius.

Gabriel, I wish you could give me the name of the person that started the rumor about David K. so that I could give the person 12 strokes (No 50, No 100, No 1000) of the cane just as it was done during assembly.

As for Vex, the only vex I have be say dem take my social prefect badge away from me (Please don't ask me why). I need to re-enrol in FEGO and fight for the badge back Anyway; I'll definitely be in touch now.
