Children of the Most High, friends of old, Schoolmates!!!
Please, regardless of which group you choose, the least I can do is pray and thank God for getting you thus far! We must learn to be grateful to God for life and for health.
As much as the fun loving Obikudu exists, the truth telling Minister of the Gospel very much prevails. E e jooo! Mo fe lahun fun gbo gbo yin O!
Nobody is rejoicing over the death of old friends, nobody is pleased when a friend experiences any misfortune but the truth is that we learn from such experience. I didn't know how to say this earlier, but once again, I draw strength from Gabriel’s words.
It is a known fact that at gatherings like this, it is not rare to have people comparing themselves, or using others as "s i units" standards of measurement for their performance presently or previously. People say healthy competition is good because it is even present amongst siblings but we should also be careful because this becomes a fertile ground for the devil to sow seeds of strife, jealousy and envy.
My point; this great forum provides us an opportunity to clear the air, laugh about events, share ideas with like minds but above all reach out to people you weren't really close to back in the days, after all no name mentioned is unfamiliar. Yes! it is true that it could never be like it used to be because people are now pre-occupied with other things like their children, spouse, jobs etc and so when some old friend does not respond warmly as you hoped, try to understand that they may be truly busy but on the other hand, do not deliberately ignore anybody who takes the time to say hi to you. Believe me, nobody is hoping to come to another persons house to say "omo give me two hands of garri, make I give you 6 spoons of Milo".
I say these things to encourage us because this is your second chance to do what you could have done 17 to 23 years ago- be nice and rejoice with one another. This may be your only access to, possibly, the future President, Minister, Governor, Chairman, Director, WHATEVER! We don't want to say Oh!
I had the chance to encourage that "boo boo" O maa see O!To those that are concerned or measuring or sizing up, waste no more of your time because you have a great future ahead of you, running your own race towards your destiny. Break the ice! Mingle, relax and have fun. Adefolaju no dey announce "first five" and "last three" for dis one, you are fulfilling your own assignment on earth, we only crossed paths and as you know, we met and left ourselves in Odogbolu, hoping to meet again!
If you just don't want to be bothered, pee leee O! As for me, Odogbolu was the moulding box because being the last of 7 children, the only place I could get goofy was school. I had to either fit the expectation of my father, mother, different personalities of my brothers and sisters, aah aah! won fe pa mi ni? Great guys though, can say that now that we are grown with families!
If I have not said it enough, I will say it again, THANK YOU! to you all! Many years ago, when my table never get "formika" and my chair never get "leder" for this America, my second job was being an MC for events- cracking jokes and making $400 every weekend. That skill came from Odogbolu. Sam Kesh and Jappy are part of the reason people admire my capital letters till today, Eddy Ebruke after beating and teaching me "robo" in table-tennis is the reason some small PTA awards reach my hand, dem think sey abi Atanda Musa! Abi na ije pip, abi dawush abi Chuks Egeonu abi ... Even you! I go tell you wetin you do for me, email me!
I could go on and on but make I stop. This is a 911 call, not emergency 911 but Ecclesiastes 9:11. Seize this opportunity, read your Bible see wetin dey inside. It is GOD that brought you thus far, neither power nor might could have done it! Some have gone and we miss them so much, SS3 Blue students will agree with me, there is no way Blue would have been Blue without Jide Olatoye and Jide Osoba. Their souls and those of others, 'Dele Subulokun, Onanuga Taiwo, rest in perfect peace!
Una wey no get doctor, a bottle of "gbo gbo nii se" (agunmu) can help. 3 spoons mixed with 5 wraps of "eeko" in the afternoon and a bottle of "agbo" every weekend ... ha hah! Just a joke, no talk sey Obikudu still dey village O! For America dem dey chop this things with another name, "gbo gbo nii se' = tahiitian noni juice "eeko" = pudding.
Remain blessed my friends.

Obi wuru wuru, ma you biko. You said the truth and the stark truth.
I could recall a few years ago, when as the secretary of the Lagos branch of the alumni association, I had the privilege of inviting a few of our mates to the meetings. A number particularly gave excuses such as 'I don't have a job'; 'I am not comfortable yet' and so on .... for their lack of participation in the association's activities.
One or two occasions, I had also come across old school mates and greeted such with true enthusiasm, only to be snubbed. I never took offence by any means.
This opportunity to reunite is a great one and I marvel at the names each time I open my box. Odogbolu moulded us all. Our searchlight is not complete until we can say a word or two about the whereabouts of guys and gals like Simon Durotimi, Igbagbo Akinola, Helen Temituro, Lapai, Ahmed Mohammed, Abubakar Salihu (Abusco), Sola Awonuga (scora), Emeka Enu, Emeka Oranyeli, Omo Iremiren, Chidolue (chitala) ......
Guys thanks for keeping the flag flying.
