Sting of Life

Death is inevitable yet when it grabs your very own when life seem to just be opening up to new discoveries, you cannot but ask why.

We may not be able to reach out to Jide Olatoye (d. 1992), Jide Osoba (d. 2001), Taiwo Onanuga and Bamidele Subulokun (d. 2007), who have transited to continue life on a new plain but we can write about the great moments we had with them leaving words of life on the sand of time.

While visiting or contacting their families may well up memories, it will show that they were not just names but people who affected others in the short time they lived. As we think up ways to ingrain their names in history especially as it relates to FGCO, we can leave words here in their honor.

I pray God provides succor to families and friends.

It grieves my spirit to hear about all these unfortunate incidences, I particularly find it very heart breaking and sad, i just wonder why this is just happening at stage of life and while I continue to mourn these departed souls, and feel very strongly for their very close and loved ones they have left behind, cos I am positive that a couple of them may have been married and even have dependants, it is very crucial that we keep in touch with each other. You'll never know what that one call or contact means until you make the move.

At the same time, I will seize this opportunity to encourage everyone to have yearly appointments with your physician for a thorough physical check up, no doubt, we are all caught up with the demands and stress of daily activities that we sometimes ignore the status of our health. More often than not, majority of these illnesses have good prognosis only if detected early. The doctors in the house will agree with me, I will even suggest that we incorporate this activity into our meetings if the need be.

Most importantly, in all we do let us always remember that "we are in the last days".

May the souls of our departed colleagues/pals Rest In Peace, AMEN!!!

I'm presently in PH and was looking forward to seeing David someday, never knew he'd passed on. I feel a strong sense of loss.

God bless & protect us all.

So sad to hear about these loses. Bamidele and I were very close friends back in school. It is well.

May we live our lives daily knowing that the Lord alone determines if we'll be here tomorrow.

DELE SUBULOKUN was just too good a friend.I finished from FGCU but we were very good friends and i mean very good friends. He was just too down to earth and straight forward. He had a very good heart and kind too also very humble. He loved the Lord above all.I remember moments we talked through the night till 2am,1am etc etc about desires and aspirations in life, about our problems and challenges.Dele would talk about anything and everything.I remember him for his tambourine in the morning and in the evenings praising the Lord for His goodness and His mercies.Dele fought death but folks i guess God allowed it.He is gone to rest in the warm and comfortable arms of the Lord almighty i whom there is no mistake.Dele Subulokun lived a life of good relationship with God,folks he loved the Lord with all his heart and money and everything he had.Let us all find today this value in DELE SUBULOKUN a young man we all knew, loved, enjoyed different moments with ect,a value of love for God almighty, the one that can sustain and keep us.DELE SUBULOKUN (BOS)as he is also called lives on in my mind and head.I will forever treasure him.
