There has been talks about reunion with a number of folks. You and I know that though we can swing an event asap to have an event that pulls together people from around the world requires a lot of planning. For now, three locations are being discussed but if we start up with plans in time we can run all three concurrently - Nigeria, USA and UK - pulling together all those around these areas.
I suggest we begin by forming committees; of 7 people for each group. Please signify in your comment if you'd be interested in being part of the committee. If you are not, simply post comments on what you expect the event to entail and suggest where (exact venue e.g. someone's home, restaurant, hall, beach...)
Thank you.
Names suggested so far are as follows:
Nigeria: Walata, Ama, Osazuwa, Salisu, Opelenge, Ogunade, Eggy,
United States: Baptist, Ohaya, Nyong, Otubaga
Uniked Kingdom: Odutola, Ojo, Mayaleke, Banjo, Banjoko, Toby

I would love to help in the organising of the UK event but if only we all could arrange a year in advance and all meet in Nigeria probably in Fego while they are on holidays. Do you know sometimes i just wish i could go back and spend a night or even weekend with as many of my mates who are willing to do same in the hostels we once lived. I am sometimes moved to tears remembering those good old days.
Lets start with the UK, US & Niger ones first i guess.
Thanks you made all this happen God bless you.
Lets thank God that we're still kicking and all is well. I'm very much in support of d reunion. For those of us in Lagos, I wanna suggest we organise a get together one of these days. Nothing elaborate, we can just arrange to meet at some joint and close it down!
What say u?
How about a weekend back in Fego? would never be same as those snrs would not be complete and most of us would have our rides ready to escape if things get too hot.
Its really nice being in touch with you guys again.
Well thank GOD for Omolola who set this up for us to be able to get in touch with each other again. I don't know how to thank her for making it possible bcos it has been long that I heard or read from folks. Well, we have some folks who are not online how can you get in touch with them?
Let me know more about the reunion.
Paul,
with your size in those pictures, Fego will need some strong beds to accommodate you o!
If we do end up spending time in Fego, it would be nice while school is in session so that we can make an impact on the current Fegosians and have some "Last boy there!" to fetch our water!
Guys guys guys I know we are all excited and happy to be in touch... but with all due respect I definitely do not understand this nostalgia of people wanting to go spend time in FEGO... Eyin guys FEGO was a place of pain... inspite of all the people I met... God knows nothing would make want to go and experience all that ever again.
Remember how boring it was at times especially when you ran out of money and food (Abimbola Okusanya excluded... this boy made a bag of gari last from form1 to form 3) Haba my people I love una but in what kind of society in which normal people interact does one person say to another 'do you want to block? Ok lets go to Jamaica and block together'.
Only thru the grace of God are many of us alive... how many marvel comics did i read and then later contemplate sticking my hand into one of those loose sockets thinking maybe man go become superhero? Then cooking rice with boiling ring? Or using blue to make your shirts white... please can someone explain this concept to me.
Reading all the porno grafitti on the walls and never believing in your life that you'd get any?
I admit I dont regret going to FEGO. It prepares you for life. When I see people wey need mansion etc... give me moto and matress... I go sleep inside am.
The only thing I feel we can give students in Fego is HOPE... by going to that school and giving speeches about study, hardwork, how hard life really is but how people can still prevail, racism abroad, how to invest and that the pain will definitely end. Well thats the end of my rambling . I'm off to bed.
The Russian Spy a.k.a Obi Won Kenobi
Akinyele Ojo,
how have you been ? long time no see ...I have often wondered how you were .. how is london...eku igba dun oooo!! (do you still lavish in french language ???)
Paul & Obi,
Guys how una dey ... long time no hear see or connect...how is london treating you guys ??
As per returning back to FEGO .. man !! I don't understand you oooo Paul .... 17 - 20 years ago you must have been complaining about home sickness .... now the problem na FEGO sickness..
Any way ...just kidding I honestly do have some nice funny memories of FEGO .. that I would like to relive. We all thank God for the experience FEGO provided ... the idea of a reunion is an excellent idea ..I am for it all the way
Please I see emails but would not encroach on your privacy except you allow me by letting me know its okay; it’s a shame that only Paul Banjoko realized Arthur Jarvis belongs to Obi O!
Anywhere the meeting would hold, I would love to be there, wellemly!
... I know many of us have gone far and wide, may never gather together completely as I'm realizing some are no more... May their Souls Rest in Peace, Amen!
I would really want to see everybody become great. I encourage us not to be too conscious of self as nobody is coming to "bon jee" your garri anymore, this is just a unity of friends with unison that sounds funny. From Pulpit to PIT street, we all went to Odogbolu.
Abeg if I ever offended anybody, make una forgive me: I'm sure I meant well and just was having fun!
Remain Blessed guys.
Paul B, kindly mail me your picture. I'll like to see how big you have become!
Tony! My wife and kids still get the kicks from seeing that picture we took together infront of the 'new' IntroTech building - your skin and haircut get to them. Not to mention that we both were very lanky! Still in Europe?
Ehhhh DELE, whats up!...back in Lagos now!... close down a joint!!!!!.........I support that "GOOD IDEA” like PABLO said.
LOLA, God Bless U once again and again and again.
Is Dele, Dele Sanyaolu? Long time for sure.
I like the idea of going back and mentoring some of those kids. No doubt things are different for them but a lot will still be the same. Home sickness, exam stress, peer pressure etc. It'll definitely be nice to reach someone and assure them that life will be great regardless of how they feel now.
Looking at the list of RIP from our set, we left off Taiwo (his last name fails me now). His Twin sister was also in FEGO.
He commited suicide soon after FEGO. He was a great kid that lost hope. If there was someone that could have reached him then who knows what may have been?
Could that be Taiwo Onanuga? I never heard of this; this is really sad. I plan to do a post that will address the very serious reasons why we need to keep interacting with one another; you never know when a call, mail, visit would be the reason why you return to the tracks or stay alive.
Yes, i think it was Taiwo Onanuga. the guys that were close to him would know better.
Great idea on the post. I'm sure there are those amongst us that are not quite where they want to be and are frustrated seeing their peers "making it" especially given the way the world judges you by material wealth.
A hand on the shoulder by a friend and a quiet reassurance that "you're doing okay" may be all that's need.
i know i need it sometimes.
I did hear about Taiwo Onanuga (RIP), sad story and I know Monsurat Ahmed was in contact with his twin Kehinde. I was also shocked to hear Jide Osoba too is late. I have heard that two of our mates are facing challenges at the moment, one in naija and one in the UK but I am not sure if I am allowed to divulge anymore than that. All I can say for now is to keep praying for one another as a set.
That's why I believe God or fate chose to class us together. As long as we are not talking about issues in other to debase or demoralise; there shouldn't be any issue that should remain in the dark.
I know one person may be in a mental home (in the UK), another going through a 419 business phase...
I'll address this issue soon in a post so that we all see that there are more reasons why we have to take this beyond the euphoria and excitement of linking up.
Calling you a friend or brother/sister is indeed a two way street.
Hi guys, u na well done, the reunion is a well thought of idea, am game for it. Pls, does anyone know the whereabout of Peter Aruya aka Ganja.
Sala- Intermediate
Job well done Lola, we are eternally greatful for your thought of bringing us together in this global village. Thumbs up to you guys that have featured and those who are yet link up, Obikudu(stove), Ama G and Clement, your write ups were really nostalgic, how I wished we could turn back the hand of the clock.
Please can someone locate Aruya, Dipo (Fash), Marinho, Oduja. I truly miss most of you folks.
This is quite a good effort, although Lola, you need to give us an address to use in making contributions.
Yes, a reunion is a good idea.
