Hello esteemed old school mates,
We now have about 210 names on file below! About 50 are still missing in action. To have a worthy celebration of 20 years of leaving FGCO, we need to link up with everyone either by telephone, email or via the postal system. I implore you to send me the telephone number, email address and location of those not on the list sent via GG. Please send this to Omolola Famuyiwa directly via willowsmagazine@gmail.com.
In addition to the calls to be made by the Committee Members; all active members (should have attended at least 2 of the reunions) will be saddled with the responsibility of calling 10 members each to see how they are doing and follow up on their levy and donation. Kindly suggest 10 people you would want on your group, in a situation where those you chose are members in any other group, the committee would nominate members for you.
Committee Members:
1. Samuel Keshinro – President
2. Omolola Famyiwa – Public Relations Officer
3. Bimbo Okusanya – Secretary
4. Yemi Lawal – Reconstruction Project Lead
5. Bayo Sorinmade – Logistics
For the magazine (8490 Pen Point), kindly send me the following information:
1. Your name as you would like it to appear in the magazine, please note that for those who have changed their names; your name as we know it will appear alongside your name for easier remembrance.
2. Your present location
3. A passport photo size image of you
4. Your profession in not more than three words.
5. Your role in FGCO (if any)
6. Your nickname in FGCO (if any)

Be reminded that pending the completion of our group account, cheques should be written or paid in favour of Omolola Famuyiwa UBA 00010550003802. Please text confirmation of date and amount to 07041915222. Cash payments can be paid at the next meeting (Ooctober 10, 2010) or to Samuel Keshinro or Yemi Lawal.
The issue of spending one or two days came up again at the previous meeting so also was the suggestion to have the Career Seminar after the dinner/lunch celebration. We are also of the opinion that the Nov. 20 date may be close to the school exam as such we plan to use Nov 13 as an alternate date i.e. in the event it would affect the school exam.
Please note that the implication of choosing programme 2 (1 day) is that a meeting would be held in the bus (should we hire one... but I bet we'd be so tired and retarded), on return at CSC Restaurant or next day at CSC or Chevron. This would likely be the final meeting before the BIG 2.0 celebration lunch/dinner.
We are now tying things up and we need your suggestion(s). Kindly review the programme draft sent to you and to let us know your preference. Feel free to suggest an addition or deletion.
We are also lining up speakers for the Career Seminar. We plan to have 2 sessions with 3 groups running concurrently. Some names have been suggested (Yemi Lawal, Omolola Famuyiwa, Obeahon Idemudia, Adewale Adelaja, Kayode Osokoya, Olumide Salako, Korede Okusanya, Jibola Osinowo, Omatsola Igbene, Bayode Ogunmoyero, Zaheed Ayoola…) but we are open to suggestions and we also need to designate what each selected speaker would speak about. We may run each group as a panel in which case 3 – 5 set members answer questions on different subjects (science, arts, commercial etc) or we may have 3 to 4 speakers who speak for 5 minutes each and 7 – 10 minutes would be for Q & A in each group Should the talk preceding the breakout session be approved, I’ll gladly take that. You are welcome to suggest another title.
We also need to decide on whether to car pool or rent a bus. Also feel free to suggest t-shirt design. We are considering round neck (2.5 – 3.5k) or polo (3.5 – 5k) depending on quality. “FGCO 8490” (back) and “pro-unitate logo” (front) may be on t-shirt. We could use same colour (white and green).
The programme for the dinner would follow, meanwhile feel free to suggest what we can include or consider e.g. award, cake cutting, invitation to teachers etc. I have tied Jibola’s hands into donating the services of a DJ; let’s see how that plays out. He is free to compel or cajole or command any of his cronies to support him.
You have the opportunity now to contribute, once we come to an agreement we would begin to cast the decision in stone as far as signing on caterer, ordering drinks, booking accommodation, getting bus(es), making t-shirts etc. is concerned.
PLEASE send in your levy and donations. We plan to start the roof reconstruction project by 3rd week in October.
Together we can have a worthwhile celebration.
Thanks, gracias, muito obrigado, adupe, saanu, merci!
