Ideas on giving back...

We reaped from the toil of some well meaning Nigerians when we were admitted and benefited from studying at FGCO. 17 years is a long time to wait before considering how to give back.

I know some of us have contributed our quota via different mediums – individual, alumni association projects etc. – but now is the time to develop ideas on how we can make a positive contribution to FGCO as a set.

In the recent past, there were discussions on privatizing FGCO. Tell me, what happens to the mix that was previously enjoyed when that succeeds? Would FGCO still qualify as a unity school especially when it becomes a college for the children of the rich and powerful from the South-West?

We have juggled a number of ideas – scholarship fund for children from poor homes who pass the common entrance/interview in flying colours but are unable to take the offer due to funds, back to the roots program during which we have an opportunity to offer career counseling and life lesson talks, event sponsorship, refurbishing projects for school store...

Here is where you can make comments on the ideas you have about giving back to FGCO. At some point we can do a poll to determine what we want to begin with.

Boogey night? You sure had a lot of that while in FGCO. Now it's time to give to those who will never know about shuffle, brake dance, remis etc.

It's time to give our children more than what we had!
